A productive physical economy is essential to a flourishing society. Without abundant provision of resources to fuel and feed us, security to ensure order, and health to sustain able bodies and minds, we naturally converge toward short-sightedness, zero-sum rivalry, and neglect of the commons.
Threshold Potential invests in and scales the physical economy. Our system comprises three practices, honed over nearly two decades of repetition and iteration.
1. Sourcing: Cultivate win-win relationships. We are not first-check investors; thankfully, many of our closest friends are. Their portfolio companies become our pipeline, and we champion their best through commercialization and scale.
2. Selection: Eliminate uncompensated risk. Our heritage is rooted equally in technical acumen and value investing savvy. To honor our circle of competence, we only get involved in companies with both transformative potential and commercial proof.
3. Structuring: Solve for liquidity. Once invested, we bring our collective experience to bear on scaling, capital formation, and exit orchestration. Delivering liquidity and DPI enables the next generation of companies to be funded, while ensuring mature companies receive institutional support matched to their next chapter.
Lastly, how we do business is as important as the businesses we invest in. The ends cannot justify the means. We can only advocate for long-horizon planning, positive-sum cooperation, and collective responsibility if our own conduct matches.
